About
ArcBox Play started as a group chat where four friends kept swapping screenshots of games that ran fine on a plane with the router turned off. At some point the list got too long to keep in a chat, so we turned it into a site.
We only cover games that work without a connection. That rule keeps us honest: if a title needs a login every ten minutes or dies the moment the signal drops, it doesn't make the catalogue. Everything here has been played on a real phone, not judged from a trailer.
We pick games by rotating who chooses. One editor loves slow strategy, another only tolerates a game if it has a good soundtrack, and that mix keeps the reviews from all sounding the same. We play for a few evenings before writing anything down.
There's no sponsor telling us what to like. If something is boring after an hour, we say so, and we try to explain why instead of just handing out a number.
